Finally gave in and got this lens. I haven’t been able to take it out, but I’m super excited to take it for a spin. I was so excited to get it I drove all the way to Auburn to go get it!

hmmmmmm, very very nice ryan. Let me know how you like it (also how it handles in low light like indoor at night). I’ve been looking at lenses for a long time now and this was one of them.

Nice. What store is down in Auburn?

FedEx. Haah, ya forgot to throw that in there. I went to the FedEx warehouse to pick it up since I was not around during the day to sign for it.

Wow, is that the closest FedEx warehouse? Note to self…

That’s quite a large lens you got there.

I just picked one of these up. Looks to be pretty nice.
Do you find yourself using the tripod mount? Or just hand-holding it? I’m trying to decide if it’s worth the $100.

Hey Brad!
I find that I use the mount at night and only at night. You’ll need some decent light to keep her steady, and you’ll get a lot more give during the day. I just happened to get the mount included in my package. If you plan to do a lot of night exposures with the lens, you’ll probably want the mount. Mainly because the lens is heavier and shifts the weight quite a bit. If you place the body and the lens on a normal tripod, you might see what I mean.
Also, I usually don’t keep this on my body, mainly b/c of the weight.
Hope that helps!

Hey dude, nice lens. I’ve been wanting this lens for a while now. How does it handle in low light, not only because its a big lens but it’s only F4 aswell do you think you would be better off with like a F2.8 or does this do the trick? Cheers, Luke (New Zealand)
