  1. Yeah, making the black and white wireframe is a really good method to figure out what you want your final layout to be. Marking up the wireframes is a bit extreme for me. I just use photoshop and make color blocks and add in some mock up text, then move the different layers around until I get the layout that I want. From there, I just code what I see.

  2. What I try to do is mock-up the basic layout on paper first, then from there go to basic css blocks to make sure that the layout is close to the paper drawings – then I go and add color.
