Hello Kitty Nokia Phone – Um, what is the world coming to? This phone is “aimed at preteen females.”
S’mores Nativity Kit
S’mores Nativity Kit – I can see all the little children eating baby Jesus and not know that they are messing up history.
Ocean’s Twelve
Last night I went to Alderwood 7 to see Ocean’s Twelve. From reading reviews beforehand I kind of knew that this movie wouldn’t be as good as the original. The reviews were stating that it was just a reason to get a bunch of friends together and make a movie. I couldn’t agree more.
The storyline was awkward, the plot was lacking, the editing wasn’t that great, and I just really didn’t like it. Now, I will say that it was funny. But, why have Bruce Willis in the movie? Did he really need to play a part in this movie? Or, why did Julia Roberts have to act as herself? I mean, it was funny, but not laughing out loud funny. Makes me wonder why they added it in the first place. Did the run out of other content to add to the movie?
But, if I were to break the movie down, I’d have to say that the story wasn’t that great, the acting was good (hell, they’re all great actors), and the way it all fit together was just awkward. I wouldn’t recommend to see this in the theatre, wait for the DVD Rental. Now, I’m sure I’ll end up purchasing this when it comes out, but I just don’t think that it was that great of the movie. I’ll have to give it like a 72/100. Bad story, good actors. Worst part is that they left it open for a third movie. So, we’ll see where they take that.
Emmert Visits iSchool
Today was the day that UW President Emmert was scheduled to visit the iSchool to see what we have to offer as a school. Being a student representative I was asked to speak with him and other student representatives during a 15 minute time span while on his visit. A weel ago, I was told to be on campus at 10am to be there on time. However, I check my e-mail at around 9:25am today and I see a message telling us that it has been moved up to 9:45am. This means that I had to book it to campus to even try to get there on time. Continue reading “Emmert Visits iSchool”
Hotlink Categories
As many of you know I frequently post links on this site to random things on the web that I find interesting. However, as of late, I have been struggling on whether or not to assign these links a category other than “Hotlinks.” I have been adding them to other categories recently because the Hotlinks category is so all encompassing that it is easy to loose some of the good stuff that I post in there. Mainly, I don’t want to lose articles about web design, or things that are useful. Things that are in the news, or are just funny I can live without, but they can go into their respective categories.
My current thinking is that they should be applicable to a category that I already have. So, apply it to that one first. Then, since it is just a link and a blurb, add it to the Hotlinks category. This is kind of where I am leaning. However, I don’t want to have a large and robust categorization scheme. It would just get out of control eventually.
So, what I am in need of is a muse. A muse that will inspire me on the path that I need to take. But, what I need to know is if this will make a difference or not. For me, it is just annoying to have them all in one category (this is my INFO coming out). I’m sure I’ll go over my blog during break and fix my hacked up taxonomy of categories. But, I am curious. Should I put another category into the hotlinks that I post? Or does it not matter?
CSS Floats
CSS Floats – If you are not familiar with floats in CSS this is a really good introduction to them. I use them on this site, and they are widely used on many CSS driven layouts on the web.
